Reward Credit Cards
Rewards credit cards let you earn something of value in proportion to how much you spend using the card. Rewards credit give you travel, gifts, memberships, and services when you spend enough every year using the card. If you are worried about inflation, rewards cards are a great way to go because they protect you from price fluctuations in the “gift” you are earning. A certain type of watch might cost $100 now, but in 3 years will be about $129. However, if you get that watch for free when you earn at a rate of 1% and spend $1000 dollars, you didn;t have to “work” (i.e., spend any more) to keep up with inflation. In fact, if inflation keeps up (it typically does), you will spend $1000 more quickly than you might expect. That's another benefit of using one of these cards to save up for a reward.
